Classic Turkey Gravy

No turkey is complete without its trusty sidekick!

(Gluten + Dairy Free Optional)

Ingredients |

  • Pan drippings from a turkey (optional)

  • 1/4 cup salted butter (or Miyoko Vegan Butter)

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten free all-purpose flour)

  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley leaves

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions |

  • Reserve 2 1/2 cups pan drippings (that have been strained); set aside.

  • Using a saucepan, melt the butter on medium heat. Whisk in the flour and thyme for about 1 minute, until lightly browned.

  • If you are using reserved pan drippings, slowly whisk that in now.

  • Bring the mixture to a high simmer for a few minutes then reduce to a low simmer, whisking constantly until thickened. This will take about 5-10 minutes.

  • Mix in the parsley, salt and pepper.
