Candied Sweet Potato Mash

A holiday classic!

Ingredients |

  • 3-4 sweet potatoes

  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar

  • 1/3 cup salted butter, softened

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped

  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/8 teaspoon allspice

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 2 cups miniature marshmallows

Instructions |

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

  • Lightly grease a 9” x 13” baking dish.

  • Peel the sweet potatoes and dice them into large cubes.

  • Boil a pot of water and place sweet potatoes in.

  • Let them cook on medium heat for 15 minutes or until fork tender then drain.

  • In a large bowl, hand mash the sweet potatoes. Add in the brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, allspice, vanilla extract and salt & pepper.

  • Place the mashed sweet potato into the baking dish.

  • Add in the chopped pecans and spread into prepared pan.

  • Sprinkle the marshmallows on top.

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until marshmallows are golden brown.
