Ingredients |
2 small onions, diced
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 cup carrots, diced
1 cup celery, diced
2 Granny Smith apples, diced
2 tablespoons minced garlic
8 ounces salted butter, melted
15 slices bread, cut into small cubes (regular or gluten free!)

1.5 teaspoons garlic powder
1.5 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
______________
Instructions |
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Chop the onions then throw them in a bowl and mix them with the sugar. Let onions sit while you prepare the other ingredients.
In a skillet over medium high heat, add some olive oil and sauté the carrots, celery, minced garlic and apples for a few minutes until soft.
Add the melted butter to the skillet then add in the onions (if there is any liquid from the onions & sugar, strain that out).
Remove the skillet from the heat and put everything into a mixing bowl. Add the bread and stir it together well.
Add in the chicken broth, pecans, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and parsley. Slowly mix it all together.
Pour the stuffing into a greased 13” x 9” baking dish.
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
After 45 minutes, remove foil and let it bake for another 5-8 minutes to make the top nice and golden brown.
Serve with your turkey & enjoy!
