Beef Stroganoff
Ingredients |
1 lb ground beef
1/2 medium sweet onion
12 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
2 tablespoons salted butter
2 tablespoons minced garlic
2 teaspoons dried thyme
4.5 tablespoons flour
1/4 cup dry white wine
4 cups beef stock
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
2 teaspoons salt, to taste
2 teaspoons pepper, to taste
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
8 oz egg noodles, uncooked
Instructions |
Add the butter to a large skillet and melt over medium high heat.
Add in the mushrooms and diced onion and cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Add salt & pepper to taste.
Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
Add in garlic and thyme & mix well.
Whisk in the flour and combine with ingredients until it has fully cooked in.
Add in the white wine and use this to deglaze the bottom of the pan while you stir. Deglaze the pan by scraping the bottom of the skillet with your spoon while you add in the wine.
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, beef stock and the egg noodles. Stir well and bring the temperature to a boil to cook the noodles in the broth. Add salt & pepper as necessary. Add in the garlic & onion powder
Reduce the heat after a few minutes to a medium temperature and cook until the noodles are done. This might take around 15 minutes depending on your noodles.
Serve hot & enjoy!
